Selection Process

Selection Process

The selection process for the Graduate Program in Rehabilitation Sciences takes place once a year and will be defined in a public announcement, to be prepared by the faculty board and submitted to the graduate committee for approval. The dates are defined in the public announcement and are published in this site.

Information on the number of openings offered for the Master's and Ph.D. programs; on the registration period; on the selection test date; on the selection stages and criteria; on the foreign language test definitions; on the semester for acceptance in the Master's and Ph.D. programs will be defined in the public announcement, available on this site. 

To apply for the Master's program selection process, the candidate must submit the following documents to the school's faculty board secretary:

a) application form, duly completed, and 01 (one) 3X4 photograph;
b) copy of the undergraduate diploma, or equivalent document, or a document that proves the applicant will complete the undergraduate program prior to starting the intended graduate program;
c) school transcript;
d) "Curriculum Vitae";
e) for Brazilian candidates, proof of compliance with military and/or electoral obligations; for foreign candidates, proof of compliance with specific legislation requirements;
f) copy of personal documents (ID, taxpayer registration, birth certificate, marriage certificate, proof of address, and passport, for foreigners);
g) Additional documents may be required based on the public notice for the selection process.
h) A brief description (maximum of 2 pages) of the research to be developed during the course, indicating and justifying its insertion in the selected line of research;
i) Original proof of payment of the enrollment fee (amount defined in the public announcement), or proof of waiver by FUMP.


For the Master's program, the selection process consists of three stages:
1st Stage (elimination round):

English language proficiency test, or proof of proficiency, in accordance with criteria defined in the public announcement;


2nd Stage (elimination and qualifying round): written test on topics related to Human Functional Performance;
3rd Stage (qualifying round):
A. Curriculum Vitae analysis;
B. Oral presentation about the candidate's research topic.
To apply for the Ph.D. selection process, the candidate must submit the following documents to the school's faculty board secretary:
a) application form, duly completed, and 01 (one) 3X4 photograph;
b) original proof of payment of the enrollment fee (amount defined in the public announcement), or proof of waiver by FUMP;
c) 1 (one) copy of the undergraduate diploma, or equivalent document, or a document that proves the applicant will complete the undergraduate program prior to starting the intended graduate program;
d) 1 (one) copy of the transcript;
e) 1 (one) copy of the Master's diploma;
f) "Curriculum Vitae";
g) for Brazilian candidates, proof of compliance with military and/or electoral obligations; for foreign candidates, proof of compliance with specific legislation requirements;
h) 2 (two) copies of the following documents:

Birth or marriage certificate, ID, taxpayer registration, proof of address, proof of compliance with electoral obligations;
i) 3 (three) printed copies of the pre-project;
j) Copy of 1 (one) published article, or acceptance letter for publication in a journal ranked as B2 or higher;
k) Proof of knowledge in the English language, as described in the public announcement.

For the Ph.D. program, selection will take place in a single stage:

Single stage (elimination and qualifying round)

A. Curriculum Vitae analysis;
B. Presentation of the candidate's pre-project, followed by oral interview.
